Hello!
I am pleased, once again to be at Mary Star of the Sea High School as an 12th grade English Literature Teacher and Director of Student Activities beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. My name is Mrs. Michelle Ramos, and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. Hopefully by learning about my background and the goals that I have for this school year, this letter will provide the first great step in our journey together to help your child succeed in school.
My passion for teaching began when I was an undergraduate student at California State University, Fullerton. It was there where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Child and Adolescent Studies. To further my education, I enrolled at National University to begin my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Additionally,, I graduated from Loyola Marymount University receiving a Master of Arts degree in Education with a minor in Child and Adolescent Literacy. My teaching career began twenty-five years ago as a teacher in the Long Beach Unified School District. Realizing that my faith in God and commitment to children were connected, I began teaching twenty years ago, at Nativity Catholic School where I was the Language Arts Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Student Council Moderator.
As parents, you are the most important people in your child’s life. As a teacher, I am here to facilitate this bond while also helping your child to learn the more on the Language Arts process.. As students, your commitment and responsibility is vital. With a great home-school connection, constant communication between us, and our faith in God, I know we will have a very successful year. I look forward to meeting and working with you soon. I look forward to a wonderful school year.
I prefer to be contacted by email. Please note my contact information on the right side of this window.
I am available for tutoring Monday thru Thursday from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm, and Fridays at Academic Support from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
