In preparation for the submission, the campus master plan was prepared and a number of detailed studies were commissioned, including:

  • Seismic Study
  • Traffic Report
  • Acoustic Report
  • Environmental Reports
  • Endangered Species
  • Landscaping
  • Lighting Impact

"The city engineers will review the studies and analyze the impact of the new high school. They determine if our use fits with current residential zoning. They also rule on any necessary modifications to insure compatibility and safety in the area. This is the same step that any new project would be required to do."

"There was a lot of good news in the studies and actually limited remedial work was identified," added Fr. Norbert Wood. "We are hopeful that the CUP process will go quite smoothly."

THE RULINGS ARE SUBJECT TO TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS AND A VOTE OF THE CITY COUNCIL. THE CUP WAS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED BY THE CITY OF LA IN AUGUST, 2001.
