Mary Star of the Sea High School

At the new campus dedication ceremony, Cardinal Roger Mahony announced that a $1 million dollar matching grant was made to the parish high school by a generous patron of the Parish and its schools.  The grant is part of the anonymous benefactor's commitment to recognize and encourage high achievement in local Catholic education.

The two-year challenge grant will support efforts to repay the construction loan costs of the new high school campus on 2500 N. Taper Avenue in San Pedro.  A challenge grant is an issue of a certain amount of money by either a Foundation or Individual.  The receiving organization, in this case, Mary Star of the Sea High School, must obtain the same amount or more before the grant is officially awarded.

Each dollar pledged will be matched dollar for dollar.

For example, a pledge of $100.00 will be matched $100.00 by the grant, The school will receive $200.00 because of your $100 pledge.
